Twin Cities Green Map Project
(TCGM):
New York City, not one of the
first places you think of when you think of "green,"
was the birthplace of the Green Map System. So why doesn't the
Twin Cities, one of the greenest metros in the US, have a Green
Map?
We're proud of all the things
we've done to maintain our connection with the environment. That
connection is part of our identity. A Green Map is the perfect
platform to promote the Twin Cities, to highlight those efforts
that have made us one of the most attractive places to live in
the US, and to hold open the door for continued dialog about
things that still need work.
The Twin Cities Green Map
Project is:
- a tool for education about sustainable
communities and eco efforts - plans for improvement and featured
success stories,
- a chance to highlight what's
going on right now - from community gardens, to our extensive
bike trails and public waterways, to innovations in eco architecture,
- a community building tool to
help people get the most out of all the Twin Cities has to offer
Metro wide or just next door,
- and a chance to show off all
the good things the Twin Cities has done to help develop and
maintain our natural spaces.
Advocates, Advisors, and Researchers
needed (see Project Plan for details).
If you can't work on the project, please take a few moments to
